The Vicar of Wellsworth owned many bees who lived in beehives at the Vicarage Orchard.
Biography[]
When a porter at Tidmouth hurriedly moved a beehive on a trolley, it accidentally fell off and broke open. After everyone evacuated the station, the bees flew to James' crew and then clung onto James' boiler. When one of the bees burnt his foot, he stung James on the nose, prompting James and his crew to leave Tidmouth. They tried different ways to get rid of the bees, which involved spinning around on a turntable, washing them off and smoking them away in a long tunnel, however the bees still did not go away. James' driver then decided to go back to the Vicarage Orchard and when they arrived, the bees swarmed into their new hive.

- The bee that stung James' nose is the first animated character to not be live-action but only character in the television series to be of cartoon cel-animation.
- The bee that stung James' nose is referred to as a male. However, in real life, only female bees can sting.

Farmer Trotter owns many bees who live in beehives at his farm.
Biography[]
Thomas once had to take some beehives with the bees to Farmer Trotter. Hiro advised Thomas to go through the Whistling Woods, however, Thomas decided to take the track that went through the flower field, thinking that the bees would like it better. This caused a calamity for Thomas as the bees escaped out of their hives. Hiro then told Thomas that he could take his truck of flowers to attract the bees away from the field and take them directly to Farmer Trotter.

Henry once found a swarm of bees buzzing around Tidmouth Sheds and his driver believed that the bees built a nest in the sheds' roof beams. Henry's crew eventually smoked out the bees by making Henry's fire very hot while closing the doors and windows to trap the steam inside the sheds. The plan worked and the bees left the sheds.[1]
A swarm of bees were once found on Thomas' boiler, however, they were soon removed when a beekeeper arrived and placed a basket over the bees, while blowing smoke at them from a machine. The bees became drowsy and clung to the basket, which the beekeeper sealed with a net. He then took the bees to a new hive.[2]
