Plot

This is a story about James the Red Engine. When he first arrived on Sodor, he was so busy thinking about his shiny red paint that he soon got into lots to trouble. I thought I might have to send him away...

  • In 2015, this book (along with five others) was sold as a website-exclusive book pack with a Wooden Railway James.
  • The lead truck of the breakaways is drawn with a mirrored version of Bulstrode's shocked face.

Goofs

  • Gordon's Hill is illustrated as having a single track instead of three tracks.
  • Most of the trucks in the ninth illustration lack facial features.
  • Edward is mistaken as Henry in the Read and Play! app in Little Engines Easy Reading, despite Henry not appearing in this book.
  • James is oversized in the eighth illustration.
