Ladle trucks (also known as slag wagons) are rolling stock used for transporting slag and molten steel. Each has a tipping bucket, which allows its contents to be poured out.
Technical Details
Basis
The ladle trucks are based on real slag wagons, though whether they are based on any particular prototype is currently unknown.
Liveries
The ladle trucks are a rusty brown with red wheels. Their bufferbeams are painted with yellow and black hazard stripes.
In the Golden Books, these trucks are dark grey with numbers painted on their bufferbeams and chassis sides in white. In various merchandise ranges, they are depicted as being painted dark blue.
