The following is a list of all officially-licensed replicas used at Days Out with Thomas. This includes all engines and rolling stock which were either rebuilt or extensively repainted to resemble characters from the series. The majority of these are dressed as Thomas himself, though there are exceptions to this.

Severn Valley Railway Has visited Holland (October 2002) and Germany (May 2005) as Thomas. Occasionally displayed with original Thomas face at the Severn Valley Railway.
Hunslet Austerity 3781 Thomas 1994-present Mid Hants Railway Runs with the name "Dave" and number removed when not dressed as Thomas. Previously ran as Percy pre-conversion.[1]
Neilson 5710 "Lord Roberts" Thomas 1996-present Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway
Hudswell Clarke 1821 Thomas 1998-2004 Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway Dressed as Thomas to cover for another engine which was out of service.[2]
Hunslet 2387 "Brookes No. 1" Thomas 1999-2007 Middleton Railway
Hudswell Clarke 1450 "Dorothy" Thomas 2000-2010 Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway
LMS "Jinty" 47383 Thomas 2000-2002 Severn Valley Railway Converted to Thomas with removeable magnetic number 1 by October 2000 to deputise for The Lady Armaghdale. Returned to BR black in early 2002. Distinguished by its black wheels and unique face.
Hunslet 1873 "Jessie" Thomas 2008-2010

Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway Originally converted to cover for 47298. Has visited Holland and Denmark as Thomas.
RSH 7031 "Penn Green" Thomas 2008-present East Anglian Railway Museum Has visited several heritage railways in the UK and the Het Spoorwegmuseum in the Netherlands as Thomas.
Andrew Barclay 2107 "Harlaxton" Thomas 2016-present Caledonian Railway, Brechin Runs without number or cosmetic splashers when not dressed as Thomas.
Hunslet 3782 "Arthur" Thomas 2024-present Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

ELMR 92 "Florence" Thomas Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway Bodyshell swapped for Days Out with Thomas.[3] Later replaced by purpose-built Thomas (now "Clive").
ELMR "Clive" Thomas Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway Purpose-built Thomas to replace Florence; redressed as "Clive" following the end of the railway's Days Out with Thomas in 2018.
Hunslet 2409 "King George" Thomas N/A Didcot Railway Centre Rebuilt with side tanks in 2022, but never run as Thomas due to plans falling through.
ELMR 1001 "The Monarch" Gordon 1999-2018 Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway Repainted into Gordon colours following overhaul.[3] Still wears these colours, but no longer as Gordon since the end of the railway's Days Out with Thomas in 2018.
SR N Class 31874 James 1993-1998 Swanage Railway Remained in James livery and wore "Britt Allcroft (Thomas) Ltd. 1997" on its bufferbeam until repaint into wartime black in 2012.[4]
