Lookout Mountain is a mountain with an abandoned railway station, a turntable and a lookout point where one can see the entire Island of Sodor, hence its name. The Biggest Adventure Club uses the mountain as their clubhouse.
History
A long time ago, there used to be a mineshaft under Lookout Mountain dug by Darcy, where all kinds of minerals were found, but many of the tunnels had collapsed due to the weak support beams. A job had been organised to repair the tunnels, but the mines were soon closed and forgotten about.[1]
One day, Thomas and Kana were chasing after a rainbow, wanting to know what was waiting at the other end. Along the way, they ran into all of their friends. Soon, they found the rainbow's end which was located at the top of the mountain. After discovering the mountain, they all agreed to make it their clubhouse and called it Lookout Mountain.[2]
Many adventures on the mountain soon followed. Nia lost her balloon for the parade at Vicarstown and with some help from Thomas, Kana Carly, and Sandy, she managed to get it back using the height of Lookout Mountain to reach it.[3]
Thomas, Percy, Diesel, Nia, and Kana watched the end of the Vicarstown Light Show from here.[4]
Thomas was repainted, and didn't dry in time to see a meteor shower. But the sky was clear, so Gordon brought the telescope to Thomas so that he could see the meteor shower from Tidmouth Sheds. Looking through the telescope, Thomas could see all his friends on Lookout Mountain.[5]
Lookout Mountain was decorated as a Christmas tree for Christmas, with Bruno's star going on top for all of Sodor to see.[6]
Eventually, the Biggest Adventure Club rediscovered the mines under Lookout Mountain and found Darcy. In honour of their big adventure, Emily and Sir Topham Hatt made a brand-new flag to represent the Biggest Adventure Club.[1]
