Maithwaite Quarry Mine (also known as the Abandoned Mine and the Haunted Mine) is a mine located on an old track near Maithwaite.
History
The mine was abandoned long ago and Percy had to travel to the mine for two nights. On the first night, he had to travel to Maithwaite to collect some flowers, but he had to stop at a red signal near the mine. While he was waiting for the signal to change, the mine's chimney sunk into the ground. This scared Percy so much that he raced away from the mine at full throttle when the signal changed to green.
On the second night, Percy had to collect a train of trucks from the mine, but a few seconds after he arrived, the mine's building sank into the ground. Percy got so scared, that he accidentally rammed the trucks, causing gnomes to fall out in the process. Percy then raced back to Lower Tidmouth where Sir Topham Hatt explained that the old buildings were collapsing in the empty mine shafts. Percy then travelled back to the mine to collect the gnomes.
Fergus later hid near the mine after he ran away from the Smelters, where he was soon found by Thomas.
