The Midland Railway owned many different types of rolling stock. During the first World War, the North Western Railway was heavily worked with locomotives and rolling stock borrowed from the Midland and Furness Railways. By 1921, most of these locomotives and rolling stock had to be returned and replacements needed to be found.

Several wooden coaches were used for passenger services on the Midland Railway.

These coaches are based on the ones once used on the Midland Railway.

Livery[]

The coaches were painted in the standard Crimson Lake livery used on the Midland Railway. Some coaches have yellow lining, and others had white window surrounds.

Several closed and open wagons were used for transporting goods and materials on the Midland Railway.

The trucks are based on the wooden four-wheeled trucks once used on the Midland Railway.

The trucks were painted light grey with "M R" painted on their sides in white lettering.
