Mineral Wagons are steel-bodied open wagons used for transporting minerals such as coal, ore and ballast.
Biography[]
The mineral wagons were built to replace the aging fleet of plank trucks. These trucks are generally stronger than plank trucks, due to them being built out of metal.
Wilbert was taking some mineral wagons to Tidmouth when the coupling gear on a truck fell off. Thinking quickly and with advice from Bert, Wilbert borrowed a coil of wire and had it looped around the hole and his coupling, so he could pull the mineral wagons.[1]
