Mitchell, known to his friends as Mitch, is a Spitfire plane who helped win the Battle of Britain during World War II.
Biography[]
Thomas met him while he was practising for a flypast to celebrate the end of the Second World War. On the day of the flyby, Mitch's engine failed and he ended up making an emergency landing in a duck pond. Mitch was rescued by Thomas and given a few minor repairs and a fresh coat of paint. Some time later, he was invited to London to fly low over the River Thames.
