Molly, re-titled Molly the Yellow Engine in 2011 and Molly the Very Special Engine in 2015, is the fortieth book in the My Thomas Story Library series.

Plot

Thomas meets a new yellow engine named Molly, who is sad because she has to take empty trucks. Thomas tries to help by brightening up Molly's load with tarpaulins and lanterns, but his plan backfires. Molly soon learns that sometimes empty trucks can be important.

Goofs

• Molly's buffers are black when they should be silver.
• In the last illustration, shadows can be seen under Molly and Gordon's eyes, but not under Thomas.
