Motorized is a battery-operated Thomas & Friends toy range produced by Fisher-Price. It is the successor to the previous range of the same name and will be released in June 2025 to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of The Railway Series.

History

The new Motorized line was first unveiled alongside its Metal Collection counterpart at the New York Toy Fair during the beginning of March 2025. This new range featured a return to the designs of the CGI series, replacing its All Engines Go-themed predecessor.

The range reuses the 2014-2021 line's functional wheel toolings, though the chassis, longer rear couplings, power switches and the rear panel for the tender engines are recycled from the All Engines Go models. The only new standardized parts are the middle wheel toolings and the siderods. All the coupling and siderods parts are now cast in a dark metallic silver plastic.

Some products were released early in a variety of countries. In the US, the Day Out with Thomas 2025 special edition engine was released on 21 March 2025, and the Load and Launch Barrel Delivery Set was in limited stock on Amazon throughout May 2025. In Australia, the first case of Greatest Moments packs debuted in early April 2025. However they were released early by accident in Big W stores in New South Wales and ACT, but were quickly pulled after. The range would later get fully released in June 2025 in all Big W stores.[1] In the UK and Ireland, most products were stocked in Smyths in late May 2025.

The range officially released globally in June 2025.

Trivia

  • Gordon and James have removable coal loads in a similar manner to their 2021 talking counterparts.
  • This range marks Duck's first Motorized release since the pre-2014 Fisher-Price range.
  • Due to the line not using unique coupling rods, Percy now inaccurately has a coupled segment in the center of his siderods.
  • The "Greatest Moments" packs add painted front buffers and running boards that are otherwise absent from the single-pack releases.
  • The renders for Duck and Classic Thomas have updated wheels, with the front pair gaining counterweights, alongside them and the main driving wheels having the holes between their spokes removed.
