- "It's a good thing you steamers don't use diesel!"
- ― Miss Jenny to Isobella
Mud Glorious Mud is the tenth episode of Jack and the Sodor Construction Company.
Plot
It is a muddy and rainy day as the Pack are digging foundations for the new dairy barn, which Isobella does not like since she hates mud and tries to take the longest route since it is cleanest. Soon enough, the machines all start to run out of diesel and become stuck. The lorry that was about to deliver the needed fuel breaks down, so Thomas is told to deliver the fuel to Cronk. Meanwhile, Isobella, the only machine to not break down since she does not run on diesel, is asked to collect the fuel from him and take it to the site.
Although Isobella hopes she will not get too dirty, she soon comes across a flooded road she has to drive through and becomes dirty. While Thomas is on his way to Cronk, Isobella is warned by a policeman that the road ahead is blocked by a landslide and so she goes across the field. She soon becomes more dirty and does not even look like herself once she reaches Thomas at Cronk. Isobella soon takes the fuel from him and returns to the site, while dirtier than ever, where The Pack are all fuelled up again. Miss Jenny praises Isobella for her efforts and states that she should be proud of herself and she is, but also cheekily asks for a washdown.

Trivia
- This episode's number was revealed by a document confirming that all 13 completed episodes of Jack and the Sodor Construction Company had been filmed by 27 January 2003.[1]
- The title is a line from the chorus of the popular Flanders and Swann song, The Hippopotamus. The line is also said by Alfie in A Happy Day for Percy.
- This is the only Jack and the Sodor Construction Company episode where Gordon, Salty and Trevor appear.
- The plot is similar to the cancelled episode of this series, Pop Goes the Diesel.
- When Isobella crosses the flooded road again, the scene is mirrored.
Goofs
- When all the machines run out of fuel, Byron is seen looking happy behind Jack.
- During the very first shot of the Pack, the scene is sped up. But as Alfie is seen leaving, the scene suddenly slows down and reverses for a second.
- The narrator says that water was up to Isobella's axles, but the water barely reached her tyres.
- In the scene where Isobella arrives at Cronk to collect the fuel from Thomas, she has considerably less mud on her face than in the close up on the following shot. Additionally, she also has more mud on her face when departing the station.
- Despite all of the machines running out of fuel, Oliver's bucket arm moves right as the camera cuts when the narrator says, "By now, all of Miss Jenny's machines were out of fuel." This is because the scene where he runs out of fuel was used but in reverse.
- When the narrator says "The site had never been so quiet," Oliver and Max are smiling, even though Oliver was sad in the last shot.
- Because of mirrored footage, Isobella's number is reversed.
- When Isobella arrives with the fuel drums, the mud on Alfie's chassis is dry but the mud on the other machines was wet.
