
The My Custom Engine was an online and catalogue exclusive Wooden Railway line that let customers produce a personalised engine. The engine also came with a personalised book and a character card about them.
There were three types of engine styles to choose from, they being Friendly Steamie, Helpful Steamie, or Spunky Steamie. An unnamed Custom Diesel was planned as a fourth engine style but was cancelled for unknown reasons.
These engines could either be painted red, blue, green, purple or silver, given a one or two-digit number, decorations and a name up to 14-characters long.
Friendly Steamie
Friendly Steamie is a 0-6-0 saddle tank engine.
Technical Details
Basis
Friendly Steamie is based on a Manning Wardle L Class 0-6-0ST. Charlie and Billy are other members of this class.
Livery
There were five main colour variants of Friendly Steamie. These were red (with black lining and brass dome), blue (with red lining and dome), green (with red lining and dome), purple (with gold lining and dome), or silver (with black lining).
Friendly Steamie had a brass lamp, brass fittings, black sandboxes, black wheels and a white circle for a number on either sides of its cab.
A plating design also existed, where Friendly Steamie had yellow and black wasp stripes on the running board sides and the Sodor Steamworks logo on either sides of its saddletank.

Trivia
- Friendly Steamie uses the same Wooden Railway base as Charlie.
- A red variant named Red Knight would make a cameo appearance in the Thomas Creator Collective series episode, The Return of Diesel. He was one of the engines Diesel 10 had as a distraction to help get rid of Diesel's Cronies.
- Friendly Steamie has two stripes on either sides of its running board to resemble outside cylinders, which the real Manning Wardle L Class do not have.

Helpful Steamie

Technical Details
Basis
Helpful Steamie is based on a Kerr Stuart Tattoo Class, but modified with a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement and scaled up to standard gauge. Peter Sam, Little Barford and Edward Thomas are narrow gauge examples of the Kerr Stuart Tattoo Class.
A 0-4-0ST Kerr Stuart Witch Class No. 4388 is a standard gauge design that resembles the Tattoo Class. In addition, a standard gauge 0-4-2ST variant of the Kerr Stuart Brazil Class was built for the City and South London Railway to assist their extension to Morden.

Spunky Steamie is a 0-4-0 vertical boiler tank engine.

Basis
Spunky Steamie is based on a Sentinel 100 HP BE Type chain-driven vertical-boiler steam locomotive, more specifically No. 9369 "Musketeer". Scruff is another member of this class.

Custom Diesel
This unnamed diesel is a 0-6-0 diesel–mechanical engine.
Technical Details
Basis
The diesel is based on British Rail (BR) 11001, a prototype Bulleid diesel built at Ashford Works, England in 1949 and scrapped in 1959. Dennis and Norman share the same basis.
Livery
There were five main colour variants of the diesel. These were red (with brown stripes and tan handrails), blue (with dark blue stripes and silver handrails), green (with dark green stripes and silver handrails), purple (with dark purple stripes, brass handrails and running board), or silver (with black stripes and handrails).
The diesel also had a black radiator, sandbox, rooftop and running board. However, only the purple variant had a golden running board.
