Nigel Permane was a camera assistant for Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends and TUGS.
After his work on TUGS, Nigel became a crew member on Thomas & Friends starting with Series 3. He has held several positions during his time on the show. He was credited as Camera Crew from Series 3-5, First Assistant Camera from Series 6-7 and Thomas and the Magic Railroad, and Camera Operator from Series 8-11 and Calling All Engines! and The Great Discovery.
After his father, Terence Permane, retired from Director of Photography after Series 11, Nigel took over the position starting with Series 12. He previously served as Director of Photography for the spin-off series Jack and the Sodor Construction Company. He left the show in 2008 after the twelve series when the show was moved to Nitrogen Studios.
