The Observation Saloon Coaches are a pair of luxurious coaches built and owned by the North Western Railway. The coaches are usually reserved for enthusiast specials and pulled by Bloomer.

Technical Details

Basis

The observation saloons are loosely based on the Caledonian Engineers Saloon No. 41. Wilbert Awdry's models of them are made from Airfix kits of a diesel railbus designed by Park Royal for British Railways, with added bogies.

Livery

The observation saloons are painted in the standard brown livery used for coaching stock on the North Western Railway. The letters 'NW' are painted on their sides in gold.
