There are six old tenders found on the North Western Railway. They are described as being very old, dirty and filled with boiler sludge.

Duck once used these tenders to play a trick on Henry, when the latter started complaining about wanting another tender.

Technical Details[]

Basis[]

The first tender was based on an LMS Fowler 3500-gallon type, whilst the second was based on an LMS Stanier 4000-gallon type. The other four tenders are LMS Fowler 3500-gallon types.

Livery[]

The old tenders appear to be painted in LMS black, however given their age they appear faded and rusty.

Trivia[]

  • In the last illustration for "Tenders for Henry" in the book, Enterprising Engines, the number 99 can be seen on the first tender. This heavily implied that the engine the tender used to belong to may have had a number beginning or ending with 99.
