==Biography==
At least three open-topped narrow gauge carriages are owned by the [[Estate Railway]]. They are used primarily by [[Millie]], to take visitors around the castle grounds.

[[Luke]] once pulled one of these coaches when he and Millie swapped jobs for the day.{{Ref|[[Thomas & Friends|T&F]] [[Series 17|S17]] #9 "[[The Switch]]"}} During Christmas, [[Sir Topham Hatt (T&F)|Sir Topham Hatt]] rode in one of these carriages dressed as [[Father Christmas (T&F)|Father Christmas]].{{Ref|[[Thomas & Friends|T&F]] [[Series 17|S17]] #18 "[[Santa's Little Engine]]"}}

The open-topped carriages are based on the third-class four-wheeled carriages used by the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in the 1830s, albeit scaled down to narrow gauge.

The open-topped carriages are most commonly seen painted red with black lining and gold door handles. They also have the [[Ulfstead Castle (T&F)|Ulfstead Castle]] crest on both sides.

Throughout ''[[King of the Railway]]'' and the [[seventeenth series]], a turquoise variant is seen wearing the same livery as the [[Open-Topped Carriages (standard gauge) (T&F)|standard gauge open-topped carriages]].
