- "Remember the time when you thought I was a ghost, Thomas?"
- ― Percy
Percy's Night Out is a magazine story.
Plot
Thomas and Percy are friends, but Percy thinks it is funny to tease Thomas about being frightened. Thomas does not think so. One late afternoon, Percy is moving some trucks into a siding. Just then Henry is passing by with a goods train and the points are switched against Percy. As Henry passes, Percy waits, but there is a problem; the points are jammed so Percy has to spend the night at the yards. That night, he hears a strange noise, which is only an owl. The next morning, the points are mended and he never teases Thomas about being frightened again.
