Trivia

  • This release was made specifically to get Daisy and Percy's Predicament to home media as part of a compromise with Rick Siggelkow who disapproved of Daisy's design, excluding both stories from being seen on Shining Time Station. This release and merchandise of Daisy in the states were allowed at the time.[1]
  • The audio overlaps on most copies, The DVD features the intro, nameboards, and most episodes being sourced from other videos, with only Daisy and Percy Takes the Plunge still untouched.
  • Some Strand Home Video and all Time-Life copies do not have the overlapping soundtrack.
  • When first advertised, the prototype cover featured the long cloud.
  • This was the first VHS to have "& Other Thomas Stories" in its title.
  • This is the last VHS for a few things:
    • The last VHS to be captioned by the National Captioning Institute until Spills and Chills and Other Thomas Thrills.
    • The last VHS to use the Strand Home Video logo on the spine and to feature the address on the back cover.
    • The last VHS to use the Strand Home Video branding on the box and tape label.
  • The Strand Home Video front cover features a promotional image from Daisy's nameboard sequence.
  • After the credits on some 1993 VHS copies, the Strand Home Video logo is missing at the end.
  • A rare prototype version of the VHS cover shows Daisy's nameboard.
  • This is the first Thomas VHS to feature stories that were not featured on Shining Time Station or re-narrated by George Carlin for said show.
  • The 1993 Strand Home Video release of the front cover has the Britt Allcroft logo smaller, while the Time-Life edition has the logo larger.
  • This is the first VHS to use the standard cloud, and the only Strand Home Video release to have the standard cloud.
  • Some of the 1995 Anchor Bay tapes have the Strand Home Video logo instead of the Video Treasures logo.
  • Like the 1995 release of Thomas, Percy and the Dragon and Other Stories, the Embassy Home Entertainment FBI Warning screen is used right before the Video Treasures logo.
  • This was one of two US DVDs to feature the animated 2008 Anchor Bay Entertainment logo, the other being Trackside Tunes.
  • The credits were reused on later releases of Thomas Gets Tricked and Other Stories.
  • The Target exclusive DVD version featured a watery pouch behind the transparent image of the front cover. It also came in a clear glass-style DVD case.
  • On the back cover of the DVD release, an image from Thomas' Day Off is used.
  • This is the first US home media release where the DVD title differs greatly from the VHS title. This was also repeated on the Henry and the Elephant DVD, as well as some 2009 Lionsgate re-releases such as Really Useful Engines, Harvey to the Rescue, The Runaway Engine, Pop Goes the Diesel and Hop on Board: Songs and Stories.
  • On both DVD covers, Percy is smiling as he splashes into the water.
  • This is the only US VHS/DVD release to feature Daisy.

Goofs

  • On the back cover of the VHS, Saved from Scrap is listed as the last episode.
  • The VHS' captions spell Jem Cole's first name as "Gem".
  • The 2000 Anchor Bay release has the Britt Allcroft logo out of sync.
  • The 2008 DVD release uses the series 3 intro, but the audio is from the stereo series 4 intro.
  • The description for the DVD says "See what happens when Percy ends up to his funnel in water...", but the water only went up to his face.
