Percy and the Goods Train is a magazine story.
Plot[]
Percy is working in the harbour yard when the stationmaster asks him to pull an important goods train to the main station. Percy is very pleased to be given important work to do.
As Percy makes his way to his train, he meets Duck. Percy tells Duck about his job but Duck teases Percy by hoping the train is not too heavy for him. Percy scoffs and says he can be very strong. When Percy couples up to his train, Diesel also teases him about his strength. To Diesel and Duck's surprise, Percy pulls the train away rather easily which leads to them wondering what kind of goods are in the trucks.
Percy arrives at the main station right on time and asks the stationmaster about what he has been carrying. He gets quite a surprise when the stationmaster informs him the trucks were empty and will be filled with goods from the factories for the bigger engines to pull. Percy admits the train was rather easy to pull and reluctantly agrees when the stationmaster says it was just the job for a small engine.
