Peter Sam is a short magazine story.

Plot

Peter Sam hears the railway staff wearing old uniforms saying that the engine will like the new colours. He wishes to Stepney that the new colours will make the engines look different, but he is wrong when he sees the railway staff wearing all new brightly blue jackets and caps. Peter Sam is quite relieved to have seen that and Stepney agrees.

• Stepney's buffers are black and he seems to be a narrow gauge engine.
