Police Cars are driven by policemen and are used on patrol across the Island of Sodor.
Once, the policeman orchestrated a roadblock and a police car was summoned at to arrest two thieves who burgled the Ffarquhar stationmaster and stole his new car and prized gardening cups.[1]

Basis[]
The police cars are loosely based on a 1975–1981 Austin Princess. In the United Kingdom, they were used by the British police force during the 1970s to 1980s and painted in the signature "jam sandwich" livery.
Livery[]
The police cars are painted white with an orange stripe along each side and the word "POLICE" written underneath the front doors in dark blue. This was at one point the standard livery for police cars in the United Kingdom, introduced in 1978 and informally known as the "jam sandwich" livery.
