A police car is a road vehicle used by police and law enforcement for transportation during patrols and responses to calls for service. There are several types of designs that have appeared in Thomas & Friends media.
Austin London Taxicab[]
These Police Cars are driven by policemen and are used on patrol across the Island of Sodor.
They were used by The Large Chinned Policeman and another police officer to arrest Baz and Bernie for stealing Kenji and the plans for the Uflstead Castle Technology Fair inventions.

These police cars are painted dark blue with black fenders and roofs. A blue sign reading "POLICE" is mounted to the roof, while a silver police badge is mounted on the front of the grille.

These Police Cars appeared in the books illustrated by Owen Bell.

These police cars are based on the Wolseley 6/80 police car. It was particularly remembered as the apparent police car of choice for the early fifties.
Livery[]
The police car is painted dark blue with black and white checkered stripes along the sides. It has a white sign reading "POLICE" in black lettering mounted to the roof. It is also shown with the number 54 written on its front doors in white.
Its number may be a reference to the US sitcom Car 54, Where Are You?

These police cars are based on the Wolseley 6/90 police car. It superseded the previous Wolseley 6/80, and was the definitive British police car until the early 1960s.

These police cars are a freelance design, which are loosely inspired on two-door saloon cars made between 1936 and the 1950s. Some of these were equipped for UK police force use between the late 1940s to 1950s.
Livery[]
In the magazines, the police cars are generally painted dark blue with white stripes along each side. The word "POLICE" is written in the middle of each stripe, also in white. However, in Proud and Loud, it has yellow stripes and lettering, with an additional blue sign reading "POLICE" mounted to the roof. In Time Trouble!, a police car is seen with red stripes.

Austin FX4 Black Cab[]
These Police Cars appeared in the Golden Books. Three police cars were deployed during the arrest Sailor John after he stole the lost treasure of Captain Calles.
