Background Information[]
Porter is a fictional saddle tank locomotive created by Andrew Brenner and Sam Wilkinson.
In 2013, Porter made his debut in the seventeenth series episode, Away From the Sea. His last appearance was in the twenty-fourth series episode, Thomas' Animal Friends, which was released in 2021.
Porter is voiced by Steven Kynman in the UK and David Menkin in the US in the CGI version of the series on both sides of the Atlantic, respectively.
Porter is based on the H.K. Porter 0-6-0ST.
Behind the Scenes[]
CGI Model[]
In 2012, Porter was created from scratch in CGI by Nitrogen Studios, then transferred to Arc Productions for the seventeenth series. The model was "hand-sculpted" in Maya, a 3D animation and modelling software.
