The Rail Under Road Bridge and Signal Box is a small road bridge over the North Western Railway.

On David Mitton's maps of Sodor, the bridge is south of Lower Tidmouth on the Headland Line. The later 2014 Sam Wilkinson map of Sodor places the bridge south-west of Dryaw, crossing the Ffarquhar Branch Line.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • The bridge's appearance is based on the Toryreck Road Bridge from The Railway Series as it appeared in the second illustration of Down the Mine.
  • The set has gone through several aesthetic changes in the television series:
    • Series 8:
      • The bridge changed colour from beige to red.
      • The design of the signal box changed.
    • Series 13:
      • The bridge became a deeper shade of red.
      • A house was added beside the tracks, though it frequently disappears and re-appears between episodes.
    • Series 17:
      • White fencing was added beside the road, though like the house, it frequently disappears and re-appears between episodes.
    • The Great Race:
      • The bridge becomes much wider, with the road now accommodating two lanes.
  • The original bridge prop is owned by Twitter user TomsProps.
  • The remade bridge prop is now on display at Drayton Manor.
