Railway Mischief was a US, Canadian, UK, Australian and Greek DVD release featuring five seventeenth series episodes. After being available for nine months exclusively at Walmart and Sam's Club in the US and Canada, it was discontinued but, shortly thereafter, it was released to all US and Canadian retailers on 15 April 2014 and also made available for digital streaming for the first time. It was released on DVD in the UK in June 2015 with two additional seventeenth series episodes and later released in Australia and Greece in 2016.

- The US/Canadian DVD was originally released in 4:3 fullscreen but, when it was released for digital download in 2014, it was released in 16:9 widescreen, albeit with ghosting artifacts due to the conversion to 29.97p.
- The US/Canadian DVD features Mr. Perkins Engine Driver Segments.
- The 2013 US/Canadian DVD included a 2013 Take-n-Play collector's poster.
- This DVD was originally slated for release in Australia on 4 November 2015 but was pushed back in favour of the release of The Adventure Begins.
Goofs
- On the front cover, Gordon's running board is not completely rendered properly.
- On the UK DVD Main menu, the Series 13-18 intro is sped up to 26fps.
