Railway Race Day is an interactive book containing a sound function as well as lift-the-flaps.

Plot

Today is the day of the big horserace, and Thomas, Percy, and James are very excited when they wake up to start work. Sir Topham Hatt gives them their work for the day. Thomas is to carry the horses, James is to deliver spectators to the stadium at the Scottish castle, and Percy is to deliver the fireworks.

Thomas goes to Knapford Station to collect the horses, but they are nowhere to be found! Thomas then sees Percy's undelivered packages and speeds off to find the racehorses and Percy.

Thomas soon passes by the Airport and sees Harold. Thomas asks Harold for some help. Harold agrees to deliver Percy's crates and to help search for him and the racehorses and leaves.

Later, Harold spots Percy heading towards the Scottish Castle pulling some livestock wagons with the horses in them. He then races back to tell Thomas.

Later, Thomas and James meet Percy at the Scottish castle. Percy apologises to Thomas for doing his job, as he was too excited to pay attention, and mixed up Sir Topham Hatt's instructions. Thomas accepts Percy's apology as all the day's jobs were done. After this, Sir Topham Hatt commences the race.
