- "Diesel, are you ok?"
"Never better!" - ― Nia and Diesel
Red Light, Green Light is the eighteenth short of the Short Story Adventures series.
Plot[]
Thomas and Nia are delivering a cottage which had just been loaded by Cranky. Diesel soon arrives, and after the two tank engines leave is disappointed that compared to their load he has to take an insignificantly small tractor. The engines decide to play a game on the way, but although Thomas and Nia decide to play safe, Diesel opts to simply be reckless, and ends up in the sea while coupling up to the tractor. Cranky quickly rescues him, and he makes his way to catch up with Thomas and Nia, who manage to avoid hitting a small group of ducklings. Diesel, however, ends up crashing through James' garbage can flatbed, and ends up off the rails, dazed and covered in trash. After a safety lecture from Thomas and Nia, Diesel makes plans to remain perfectly safe, though he ends up crashing into a haystack as Thomas and Nia joke at his expense.

- However, the short was released on Treehouse TV in Canada on 4th December 2021.
- In the UK, the short was released as part of a railway safety campaign.
Goofs[]
- When Cranky turns and loads the cottage onto Thomas and Nia's flatbeds, his left blank nameplate disappears.
- When Diesel passes Thomas and Nia and tries to get across the crossing, he is on the left track, Thomas is on the right track, and Nia is on the middle track. However, when Diesel derails and Nia asks if he's ok, she is on the left track and Thomas is on the middle track.
- Diesel crashes into two flatbeds of trashcans in the back of James' train. However, the flatbeds weren't there when James approached the crossing.
- Although Diesel uncoupled from his tractor before crashing into James' train, the tractor somehow ends up derailed with him in the next scene.
- This episode is intended to teach about rail safety, but numerous rail safety violations are shown occurring without repercussion, including:
- Transporting a house on two flatbeds running side-by-side on a double line.
- Stopping because there are ducks on the line.
- It is repeatedly stated that trains have to stop, look and listen at level crossings, but trains always have the right of way.
