Rocky Rescue is a magazine story illustrated using images from the television series. Originally published in an unknown year, it was re-published in 2025 as part of the "Classic Thomas Story Collection" series with slight alterations to the images and text.
Plot[]
One day at the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre, Flynn is telling everyone about one of his daring rescues where he had to travel on both the road and the rails. Soon, the whole rescue team is arguing about who is the best at rescuing. Suddenly, the emergency alarm rings and Thomas appears to announce that Henry has had an accident and needs Rocky's help urgently.
Thomas and Rocky race to Henry's rescue. They find the big, green engine on his side. In no time at all, Rocky has pulled Henry back upright and onto the rails once again. Henry thanks his rescuer and heads off to the Sodor Steamworks to get checked over. Meanwhile, the workmen get to work trying to lift a rock off the tracks. Finally, the men get the rock moving but it rolls down the hill picking up speed. The rock crashes into Rocky and pushes him off the rails and onto his side. Thomas hurries back to the Search and Rescue Centre and tells the others that Rocky needs help. Everyone follows Thomas, heading to Rocky's rescue.
At the site of the accident, Butch is confident he can rescue Rocky all by himself. Butch tries to pull Rocky upright but the crane is just too heavy for Butch to manage. Then, Harold tries to lift Rocky up from the air but that does not work either. Finally, Belle and Flynn try to get Rocky back onto the rails but it is no use. Rocky tells them to stop and work together. The rescue team try again. This time, Harold lifts from one side and Butch pulls from the other. As the Search and Rescue team push and pull all together, they finally get Rocky back onto the tracks. Back at the Rescue Centre, Rocky thanks his friends and Thomas tells them that he thinks they are all great rescuers but when they work together, they are truly the best.

Trivia[]
- This story is based on the nineteenth series episode of the same name.
- Unlike the original episode, Belle, Harold and Captain do not speak.
Goofs[]
- The image shown when Thomas tells the rescue vehicles about Rocky's accident, shows Rocky on the rails with Belle and Flynn at the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre.
- The image that accompanies the text of Thomas telling the rescue vehicles about Rocky's accident shows Butch trying to pull Rocky back onto the rails. This is likely due to images six and seven being switched.
