Scrapped Again is a magazine story.
Plot[]
Trevor the Traction Engine happily lives in the vicarage orchard but he often thinks about the time he was nearly scrapped. His driver, Jem Cole, regularly takes him out on a run and makes sure his parts are properly serviced.
One day, Trevor and Jem are collecting dead wood when Trevor begins making a terrible banging sound. Jem inspects Trevor from the inside and gives him an oiling but the noise continues. Jem sighs and says he can not fix Trevor himself and will send Trevor to The Works in the morning. Trevor cries in his shed that night, thinking he is being sent for scrap again.
In the morning, Edward passes the orchard like usual but Trevor almost does not hear him. Trevor begins to cry again and explains the situation to Edward, who laughs which makes Trevor cross. Edward questions why Jem would take Trevor to The Works if he is going to be scrapped. Trevor says that he thinks it's somewhat the same thing but Edward clarifies that The Works is where engines get repaired. Sure enough, the men at The Works are able to make Trevor better than ever!
