One summer's day, Thomas is given the task to take important visitors on a tour of the Island. Gordon does not think that Thomas can handle a job like that and since he is a big engine, he can show the visitors all the sights in one day. So Thomas decides to prove that Gordon is wrong by taking the visitors to as many sights as possible. However, Thomas only succeeds in causing trouble as he leaves all his passengers behind at Brendam Docks, Black Loch, and Callan Castle.
Bertie soon arrives carrying the stranded passengers, which makes Thomas realise that he left all the passengers behind. Quickly, Thomas goes back over his tracks to collect the important visitors and carries on with the tour. However, when Thomas stops at a signal by the seaside, he decides to allow the visitors to spend the rest of the day at the beach. The visitors enjoy the fun at the beach and so does Thomas. Gordon arrives to tease Thomas, but Thomas tells him that it is better for the visitors to see one place properly than lots of places in a hurry.
Going by production order, this is the fourteenth episode of the tenth series.
A leaked script differs from the final episode in various ways:
Originally, this was going to be the thirteenth episode of the tenth series.
Various points in the script are not acknowledged in the episode. An opening montage is suggested featuring various runbys for "all the engines" to travel on as the narrator describes specific locations such as windmills, castles, stations and the Suspension Bridge. Other suggested runbys include "The River" and Gordon's Hill. The final episode does not specifically name any locations and only uses stock footage of the Suspension Bridge from the ninth series episode, Respect for Gordon. A photo of Thomas passing the windmill can be seen in the book Thomas and the Treasure and Other Stories.
Thomas' washdown is also not acknowledged in the episode's narration, and the line "Thomas sparkled as he chuffed towards Brendam Docks" is changed to "Thomas puffed happily toward Brendam Docks." In the script, Thomas is having the washdown because he already knows about his important job, and Fat Controller is reminding instead of informing him.
The script uses the terms "holiday makers" and "platform" instead of "visitors" and "gangplank", respectively.
Salty and Thomas call out to each other as they pass by.
Unlike in the script, the episode specifies that it is the children aboard Bertie who find the chase exciting rather than the holiday makers/visitors in general.
During the Black Loch scene, there are some actions in the script that are not in the episode, such as the passengers buzzing with anticipation and Thomas impatiently shunting back and forth.
Gordon says "You can't have seen many sights!" instead of "You haven't seen many sights!"
Thomas laments what he has done instead of Bertie telling it to him.
Thomas says "Cinders and ashes! We can stay here all day!" instead of "We will stay here all day!"
When the narrator starts to list the activities the holiday makers/visitors can do on the beach, Thomas starts to puff away and watches the rest from "the station". Whether or not this is Norramby station is unspecified.
This episode marks the last appearance of the Fisherman.
JEI TV's Korean title of this episode shares the same name as Thomas' Train.
Gordon's perspex model appears in the scene where he was at the docks.
Goofs

Thomas appears to have left the last of his visitors at the Scottish Castle, but when he encouraged the visitors to get back on board, carriage doors could be heard shutting.
When the visitors look out of the window at the beach, one girl is already wearing her swim suit.
In a close-up shot of Thomas's neutral face, his right wheel splasher (viewer's left) is not centered properly.
