Shunter

Shunters are railway staff who are responsible for coupling and uncoupling engines from trains.

Did you know? Despite the shunters use a shunter’s pole to couple and uncouple engines and rolling stock, in reality this is practice that is slowly obsolete as shunters would hold the coupling chain and slip them on the draw hook.
