Simon Fisher-Becker (25 November 1961 - 9 March 2025[1]) was an English television and stage actor. He was best known for playing Dorium Maldovar from "Doctor Who" and The Fat Friar in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".
He played The Fat Controller in character for ten years from 1994 - 2004, regularly appearing at Day Out with Thomas locations, live shows and promotional events. He was among the guests to open Thomas Land in Japan in 1998 and also for Nick Jr.'s Live Road Show in 2002.
He also provided the voice for the Question Time with Sir Topham Hatt cassette tape for the Thomas Club in 1998.
