Simon Spencer (born 26 June 1959 in Clacton-on-Sea) was the producer and showrunner for Thomas & Friends from 2003 until 2008. He replaced Phil Fehrle when HiT Entertainment began producing the show. He also wrote six episodes for the show and served as a creative producer for The Birthday Express.

He was replaced by Nicole Stinn in the producer role, when production moved to Nitrogen Studios in 2009.

  • Simon is in ownership of several pieces of crew memorabilia from the series, including Gauge 1 replicas of Thomas, Spencer (who was named after him according to Abi Grant[1]), the Steam Team statue, as well as a Sir Topham Hatt Wharf Scale Hiking figure and Dowager Hatt's original Series 5 figure.
  • Simon also owns several production material from Calling All Engines!, including storyboards and behind the scenes images.
  • He also used to own the stunt model of Hector (whose introductory episode he wrote), before he sold it to The Prop Store in 2024.
