Six-Wheeled Open Wagons are a common type of rolling stock used on the North Western Railway for carrying various types of loads such as minerals and scrap.

Technical Details[]

Basis[]

The wagons have no particular basis and are of a freelance design.

Liveries[]

These wagons have been seen in a vast variety of colour schemes. In the first series, they generally match the colour of the engine they are being pulled by, though also appear in many other liveries.

Since the second series, they have been most frequently seen in a more standardised slate grey with red running boards. Scrap wagons are also often seen painted dark purple with brown running boards and wheels.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • The wagons reuse Thomas' wheelbase and running board, albeit with shortened ends.
  • As both engines share the exact same colour scheme, Gordon and Thomas both use the same set of blue wagons.
