Skarloey Coal Yard

The Skarloey Coal Yard (also known as the Coal Mine) is where the engines on the Skarloey Railway go to collect coal. According to former Railway Consultant Sam Wilkinson's 2014 map of Sodor, it is located north of Glennock.

Trivia

In the ninth series, the coal yard was modelled after Skarloey Slate Quarry, likely in error. This included the reuse of the incline winch house as well as the water towers and channels at the bottom of the incline. From the tenth series onwards, the coal yard was given its own unique set.
