Skiff Sails Sodor is a magazine story illustrated using images from the All Engines Go series.
Plot[]
One day, while racing against Diesel, Skiff the Sailboat hits a rock in the water which makes a hole in his side. Diesel offers to help him towards shore, but Skiff refuses as he hates being out of the water. But with the hole in his side, Skiff is starting to sink. So Cranky picks him out of the water and loads him onto a flatbed for Thomas to pull to the repair dock.
Thomas rushes off with Sandy and Carly helping him out. After a little while, Skiff starts to feel queasy. The tracks are too smooth for him; he misses the wavy sea! Carly places Skiff into a little lake while Thomas thinks of a plan.
Thomas takes the bumpiest route he can find and Skiff loves it. It is just like being back in the sea. Unfortunately, after a while, Thomas starts to feel sick too.
Suddenly, Sandy has a brainwave and rushes back to the Maintenance Yard to make something to help. She comes back with a special set of wobbly wheels for Skiff. They wobble and bounce as they move, so Skiff feels like he is in the sea whilst he's riding the rails.
Skiff is ready to try out his new set of wheels, so he challenges Diesel to a race. The wobbly wheels prove to be a huge success. Now, Skiff can zoom across the land as happily as he zooms across the ocean.
