The Sleeper Coaches are specialist coaches designed to provide sleep accommodation for passengers on long, overnight journeys.
Technical Details[]
Basis[]
The Sleeper Coaches are based on British Rail Class 101 DMUs, though unlike real 101s these are single units. They have been converted to act as passenger carriages, which in the preservation scene is not unheard of on railways that lack many express coaches.
Daisy and 101680 are also members of this class.
Livery[]
The coaches are painted light green with orange lining and red buffers. They have the word "SLEEPER" written in black on their sides.
Appearances[]
Magazine Stories[]
- These coaches appear in a "Counting Time" activity from a June-July 2002 magazine.
Trivia[]
- Their artwork is lifted from a sideview of Daisy's model, most likely her third series reference photo as they have a Co-Bo wheel arrangement (from BoCo's chassis).
