“There's a hole where my face should be!”
―Thomas referring to the cardboard cut out of himself

Snap Happy is a magazine story.

Whilst on a trip to the pier, the Hatt family have their photos taken with some cardboard models with the faces cut out. Stephen and Bridget take turns to put their faces in the holes and it makes them look different and funny. Later, the Fat Controller tells them he is going to hold a Fun Day where loyal passengers can look around the engine sheds and have their photos taken with the engines. Next morning, the Fat Controller collects the post from the letterbox and he laughs when he sees the funny-figure photos of Stephen and Bridget. Then, he has a cardboard model of Thomas made with a hole where his face should be. On Fun Day, everyone loves having their photos taken.
