“It's better than being a henhouse! I'm a really useful bus now, and I hardly have to try!”

Sow and Grow is a rhyming magazine story.

Bulgy is enjoying his life as a fruit and vegetable shop - he thinks it is much better than being a henhouse. Neville was carrying soil and sleepers that had been dug up from a landslide. Neville has an idea and he asks that the sleepers and soil be turned into a vegetable garden at a station, which makes both Neville and Bulgy happy.

  • In the third illustration, Neville seems to be missing his tender.
