Special Delivery is a PC game developed by Mindscape and published by Focus Multimedia in early 2007 for the UK and later released by Brighter Minds Media for the US in mid 2007. The US version was re-released in 2008. It was narrated by David Holt in the UK and Robin Smith in the US.

Plot

James is asked to make a very special delivery to the zoo when some new animals arrive at Brendam Docks. But James gets lost along the way and Sir Topham Hatt sends a search party to look for him. It is up to the player to help Thomas and all his friends find James and get the animals to the zoo on time.

Trivia

  • This is the final Thomas video game narrated by Robin Smith in the US.
  • The ship containing the animals has the uncut whistle sound of S.S. Arabic. A cut version with a higher pitch has been used for several boats in the television series.

Goofs

  • In the US release, the narrator mispronounces Brendam as "Brendan" in the opening.
  • Throughout the game, James' wheels are white.
  • Some of the engines' whistles are incorrectly pitched.
  • In the scene where Thomas and Harold go to look for James, Thomas incorrectly has the Rainbow Sun's, Lexi's, and Marcia's whistle.
  • Thomas' wheel spacing is incorrect in some scenes.
  • In the scene where James is going to see Bertie but gets lost, his wheels are turning backwards despite him going forwards.
  • On the vertical vision games, there are a few errors:
    • Thomas and Percy's boiler stripes are yellow instead of red.
    • Mavis is seen puffing steam, despite her being a diesel engine.
  • On the front cover, Thomas' eyes are edited and are much smaller than they are supposed to be.
