Trivia

  • This VHS was the first home media release worldwide to use the current Thomas & Friends logo on the front cover, though it was first seen on the back cover of Let's Sing Thomas Songs Together Vol.1 in Japan.
  • This is the last release of a few things:
    • The last US DVD to feature the Thomas & Friends VHS promo from 2001.
    • The last release to feature Duke, Rheneas and Rusty's nameboard sequences.
    • The last to use the Thomas screencap taken from Saved from Scrap on the spine. It would later be replaced by a cartoon Thomas by Coatimundi Studios.
  • This marks the only release of a few things:
    • The only VHS since Daisy and Other Thomas Stories to be captioned by the National Captioning Institute, as well as the last to be captioned by them.
    • The only DVD to feature Night Train.
    • The only DVD to contain Stepney Gets Lost and Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday.
  • On the front cover, the image from Rusty and the Boulder is mirrored.
  • Some sticker-labeled VHS copies feature a Thomas and the Magic Railroad teaser trailer before the main feature.
  • On the DVD, Night Train does not have sing-along lyrics.
  • If the whole DVD is played automatically, the Songs and Character Gallery will play after. This also happens on Cranky Bugs and Races Rescues and Runaways, both of which are also Series 5 releases.
  • The image of Harold on the cover was reused for the 2003 VHS and 2006 DVD releases of Thomas Gets Bumped and Other Stories.
  • On the 2015 Double Feature DVD release with New Friends for Thomas and Other Adventures, both the menu intro and Web Fun were removed.

Goofs

  • Trevor's nameboard is cut out during the third and last intermission on both VHS and DVD releases.
  • The audio is slightly out of sync on the DVD.
