Taking Off! is a rhyming magazine story.
Plot
As James approaches the airfield, he gets a big surprise when he sees a hot-air balloon waiting to take people on a trip across the sky. As the balloon prepares for take-off, James complains that if people start using the balloon, there will be no-one on his train.
Luckily for James, the weather turns stormy and the balloon is forced to land. All the passengers run for shelter in James' carriages.
