Sodor Search and Rescue Centre Tankers are used to transport water and firefighting foam for emergency services on Sodor.

Anchor Mounted Tankers[]
Anchor Mounted Tankers are rolling stock used for designed for transporting liquids and other gaseous commodities.
In the My First Thomas books, they were used for transporting tar.

These tankers are based loosely based on the 14/20 ton Anchor mounted tank wagons. This new designs differed from the previous tankers by abandoning the use of saddle and cradle timbers as well as the end stanchions. The majority were built in 1949 and into the early 1950s. They remained in service up to the early 1970s. A few examples made it into preservation.[1]

DOT-111 Tankers[]
These tankers originate from the United States.

Basis[]
These tankers are based on the large and small capacity DOT-111 tank cars, commonly found on various North American railroads in the United States. The large capacity tankers are mounted on the chassis of modified British-built Taff Vale Railway Macaw G flatbeds, while the small capacity tankers are mounted on an extended GWR ventilated van flatbed.

The small capacity tankers are painted yellow. The large capacity tankers are painted white with blue lining and "81081-XUIT" written on both sides in black lettering.
In the Lionel Trains merchandise range, they are painted in the same liveries as the Tidmouth Milk, Sodor Fuel and Oil Tankers.

These tankers are based on the JNR 3900 Series bogie tankers.

In the Motor Road and Rail merchandise range, the tankers were painted in the same livery as the Sodor Fuel Tankers.
In the Capsule Plarail merchandise range, the tankers were painted in the same livery as the Tar, Water, Tidmouth Milk and Sodor Fuel Tankers. A green tanker with a white waterdrop logo was also produced by Capsule Plarail.
