Tasha was Burnett Stone's late wife. It was her death, along with Burnett's inability to make Lady steam, which made him depressed.
Biography
She is only heard speaking as a child when Burnett is reminiscing in Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Had the film been made the way Britt Allcroft wanted it, there would have been a scene in which Lily shows Stacy a picture of a young Burnett and Tasha dancing; leading to a lengthy flashback of the dance, while a young P.T. Boomer watches angrily from the sidelines. The music from the dance is retained in some of the night-time scenes of the final film at Burnett's workshop, although this time on his radio.
