- "Remember that snowdrift? That makes us quits, I reckon!"
- ― Thomas to Terence, after he rescued him from the riverbank
Terence Takes a Bath is the third story in the 1986 Annual.
Plot
One damp, rainy day, a large tree branch becomes wedged between the sides of the Hackenbeck Bridge, causing a block in the stream. Terence is called to clear it up, but as soon as the blockage is pulled out, the bank of the stream collapses beneath his caterpillars and he falls in. Soon Thomas is sent to the rescue and as Terence is pulled back to safety, both he and Thomas agree that it certainly makes them quits.
