Thames Television was the London-based ITV franchise during weekdays, founded in 1968 and active until New Year's Eve 1992 when it was replaced by Carlton Television. As far as children's programming went, Thames mainly served as a co-producer of Cosgrove Hall animated productions. The company commissioned and provided post-production services for the third series of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends as Thames TV PLC.
After Thames was shut down, the third series was repeated on Friday afternoons in 1993, barring Thomas and Percy's Christmas Adventure.
