"Follow that Sir Topham Hatt!" - ― Sir Topham Hatt and Percy
The Big Balloon Breakout is the fourteenth short of the Short Story Adventures series.
Plot[]
As Percy exchanges bags at the mail depot, Thomas arrives, and the two friends exchange a few words before Percy shows Thomas his final delivery: a special party balloon for Sir Topham Hatt. However, the balloon flies off the moment it exits his mail car, and Percy soon gives chase with Thomas at his side. Following it to the farm, the engines try and fail to catch it before a seagull takes the string and flies the balloon to the docks. Convincing Cranky to help him, Percy overcomes his fear of heights to rescue the balloon, but frightened by his recent height climb has to be dragged by Thomas for the delivery to be finished. The two engines deliver the balloon safely and are surprised to see that Sir Topham already has a large balloon bundle. They are forced to give chase once again, however, as with the extra balloon Sir Topham Hatt's bundle begins to float him away from the party.
