This article is about the coach. You may be looking for the magazine story.

The Carriage Café is a former express coach that has been converted into a café.

The coach was extremely old and had a broken door. It was then put into a station siding and was likely to be sold for scrap. Meanwhile, there was a fire at a seaside café which gave Thomas an idea. The coach was sent to the works for a refit, turned into a café and then positioned on a siding near to the seaside. It is currently unknown if the coach is still in use or whether this was just a temporary arrangement whilst the regular café was being rebuilt.

Technical Details

Basis

The Carriage Café is based on the LBSC Stroudley Coaches built between the early 1870s and late 1880s. Several coaches of this type are preserved on the Bluebell Railway and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

Livery
