The Cold Waiting Room is a magazine story.
Plot[]
It is a nippy morning on the Island of Sodor. Thomas is glad he will have a warm firebox throughout the day. Some passengers at the station are waiting for Gordon and they are very annoyed. Thomas wonders what is wrong.
The Fat Controller arrives and an older woman asks when the heat in the waiting room will be turned on. The Fat Controller sadly tells her there is a problem with the pipes and the plumbers are busy.
Thomas wonders if he is able to help and the driver decides the passengers could stand near Thomas' warm boiler until Gordon arrives. Thomas is driven up level with the waiting room and whistles to the passengers to come get warm. The passengers and The Fat Controller are very pleased with the idea and crowd around Thomas.
